The Tangley® Calliaphone® is the only real brass whistle calliope manufactured today! Sound, quality and craftsmanship are superb. The beautiful, happy music produced by a Tangley® calliope can be heard a great distance (1/4 mile or more). Anyone within hearing range immediately falls "victim" and their attention is yours. The calliope is the greatest advertising tool ever invented!!

 

     All new materials are used including solid brass for the voiced and tuned whistles, valves and trim. Cabinet is of heavy wood frame with sheetmetal covering. Finish is durable, mirror-like urethane automotive enamel. The brass whistles and trim are protected from tarnishing with an invisible coating of baked epoxy lacquer. Nothing to hide – absolutely THE BEST!!

     Built for hard use, the Tangley® Calliaphone® will stand up to years of "over the road" use in advertising, parades, fairs, carnivals, circuses, etc. Only annual maintenance is recommended and the reliability is proven with hundreds of instruments in use.

CALLIOPE

CA-43 (above)

Model CA-43 is nearly identical to the original Tangley produced in the 1920's. It plays a 10-tune "A" roll automatically with the movement of one lever. Roll automatically rewinds at the end of last tune and replays. Dozens of music rolls are available.

CA-53 (above)

Model CA-53 is patterned after the great National Model B popular in the 1920's. It plays automatically, same as the CA-43, but with 10 more notes, it is a very powerful, rich calliope! Blower is internal.

STA-58 Theatre Special

The original Tangley® Company built perhaps two of these incredible instruments. Our STA-58 is beautifully soft voiced for indoor use (perfect for your living or music room). Deep bass and rich, melodious high notes are captivating. Swell shutters in the hand-crafted cabinet are easily controlled to vary the volume. At it's softest, the STA-58 will not overpower your conversation at it's side! Whisper quiet pipe organ blower, choice of hardwood and stain finish are all included. Leaded art glass optional.

All calliopes are individually crafted and are built for you. Delivery is 1-4 months (immediate sometimes possible on CA-43). A deposit places your order.

Please note: We only manufacture REAL solid  brass whistle calliopes – NO plastic! All real calliopes have brass whistles and they stay beautifully in tune. Look out for deceptive names to hide the material: gold spray painted plastic PVC pipe might be described very cleverly!. Plastic is a polymer and painting is often referred to as coating.  If it doesn’t say SOLID BRASS, it’s probably plastic! And that stuff is absolutely not in the same league!

Everything we build is done so with jewelry-like precision, but our products are designed for heavy commercial use. They are easy to work on in the unlikely event they need service. Plus, you will find us easy to deal with after the sale should you need any assistance. All instruments carry a one year warranty.
